At dientes.org, we are an inclusive organization committed to treating everyone equally, regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, or any other factor. We believe access to oral healthcare is a social justice issue and strive to ensure equitable access for all. To guide our accessibility work, we’ve partnered with Accessible Web, a team of experts in digital accessibility. We aim to conform to the Americans with Disabilities Act Title III and meet the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
Known Limitations
While dientes.org has a generally functional accessibility foundation, several issues remain that may impact users relying on assistive technologies. Known limitations include color contrast inconsistencies, embedded map accessibility challenges, heading hierarchy inconsistencies, keyboard focus order issues, alternative text quality concerns, landmark/navigation labeling improvements needed, and accessibility challenges within PDF documents and embedded third-party content.
What We’re Doing
We use a combination of automated testing with RAMP through Accessible Web and comprehensive manual audits conducted annually to identify and address accessibility issues. Our ongoing efforts prioritize improvements in color contrast, keyboard navigation, heading structure, alternative text quality, and overall usability. We aim to achieve full conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA by June 2027.
